Sometimes a show can be unapologetic about the things it shows. It will put something on the screen and tell the world it's not afraid to show it. IT will have characters deal with problems to one else in television is dealing with. A show like that can be hard to find, but I have found an excellent example of a television show being open about what it tackles. I am of course talking about CW's The Flash.
All joking aside I really do think The Flash is something special. A lot of DC shows and movies seem to be ashamed of being a superhero show. Smallvile and Arrow season 1 are good examples of this. And now we have the Flash. This is a man with super speed wearing a red costume with lightning bolts on it. The Flash is very much a superhero, but what really stands out with me is his villains.
Well namely one villain, Gorilla Grodd. In comics Grodd is a super intelligent talking gorilla with physic powers. In The Flash show Grodd isn't a large man in a suit like it could have so easily have been. Grodd is a super intelligent talking gorilla with physic powers, and the show doesn't try to hide this fact.
I can't wait for season 2 of this show mainly to see what other amazing comic books this show does.
